Our People

Our agency has been passed down through three generations of the Carter and Bentley families, and our team of dedicated insurance professionals has over 100 years of combined experience in the insurance industry. Our executives, Rux Bentley, George Bentley, and Casey Bentley, are all highly-respected in the insurance industry, and have received numerous awards and recognitions for their outstanding contributions and achievements.

Rux Bentley, the current president of Rux Carter Insurance Agency, has been active within the Alabama Independent Insurance Agent's Association and has served as its President in 2009-2010. He has received the Alabama Independent Insurance Young Agent of the Year award twice (1998 & 2007), and was named the Outstanding Board Member of the Year in 2006. Rux has also served on several committees within the association, including the State Board of Directors, Young Agents, Excalibur Foundation, Legislative, Commercial Lines, Personal Lines, Nominations, and Education.

George Bentley, the former president of Rux Carter Insurance Agency, has also been active within the Alabama Independent Insurance Agent's Association, having served as its President in 1995-1996, and later as the State National Director. He was awarded the Independent Agent of the Year for the State of Alabama in 1999.

Casey Bentley, the newest addition to the Rux Carter Insurance Agency team, joined the agency in 2007 after working for a National IT Services provider in Birmingham, AL and St. Louis, MO. Casey has already received his Commercial Lines Coverage Specialist (CLCS) designation through the Hartford School of Insurance and completed a one-year new producer program through State Auto Insurance called Pacesetters. His responsibilities include an emphasis on Commercial and Personal Insurance.
