Our History
Our story began in the late 1800s when Joseph Horst constructed a church in Lancaster County, Pennsylvania, where services are still held today. Over the generations, our company grew and expanded, earning a reputation for quality work and dependability. Today, the Horst Group consists of three core business units: Construction Services, Insurance & Benefits, and Management Services.
Construction Services
Our Commercial Construction division provides quality construction services from preconstruction and master planning through contracting services. Horst Excavating provides experienced excavation services to Pennsylvania.
Insurance & Benefits
Horst Insurance provides comprehensive commercial insurance, risk management, personal insurance, and employee group benefits solutions. We also have a private insurance placement facility for independent agencies.
Management Services
Horst Management Services provides strategic direction and management services for organizations, investors, association boards, and owners of senior living, commercial, and residential properties.

Randall Horst, President & CEO
Randall has been part of the Horst family's business for over 35 years. He has held various leadership positions, including President and General Manager of Horst Construction and Horst Excavating.
Michael Giordano, CFO
Mike has been with the Horst Group for over 10 years, providing financial oversight for our company and its subsidiaries.
Harry F. Scheid II, President & CEO of Horst Construction & Excavating
Harry has been with the Horst Group for over 30 years, holding various leadership positions, including Vice President and COO of Horst Excavating.
David C. King, President & CEO of Horst Insurance
Dave has been with the Horst Group for over 28 years, holding various leadership positions, including President and Chief Operating Officer of Horst Insurance.
