Smart Home America emerged from the devastation of Hurricanes Ivan and Katrina in 2004 and 2005. These catastrophic events exposed severe vulnerabilities in building practices and disaster preparedness, leading to widespread insurance chaos and human suffering. Determined to create lasting change, a group of local citizens in Alabama and Mississippi founded Smart Home America.
