The Insurance Center, An Alaskan Corporation, is a locally-owned Managing General Agency based in Anchorage, Alaska. We have been serving the great state of Alaska since 1981. With over 40 years of experience, our team of dedicated and experienced employees has a combined total of over 100 years of insurance expertise. Our Founding and Milestones
The Insurance Center was founded by Gus and Mary Gustufson in 1981. After surviving the boom, bust, and rebuilding years after the Alaska Pipeline's rise and decline, they sold the business to Philip and Anna Mink in 1996. The Mink's and their team expanded the business to include Dwelling, and Commercial Property and Casualty lines of insurance. In 2010, Phil and Anna turned the business over to us, their daughter and son-in-law, Angela and Joshua Korver. We have been excited to be a part of the Alaskan business landscape since then.
Our Team
As a husband-and-wife duo, Joshua and Angela Korver, the Co-Owners of The Insurance Center, we bring a unique blend of skills and expertise to the table. Joshua, our President and Owner, has a degree in Electrical Engineering from Gonzaga University and a Juris Doctorate from the University of Washington Law School, giving him a strong background in intellectual property and insurance. Prior to joining The Insurance Center, Joshua worked as an Intellectual Patent Attorney for a Minnesota-based law firm, representing high-tech intellectual clients such as Microsoft and National Semiconductor.
Angela, our Chief Marketing Officer and Owner, has a degree in Public Relations/Advertising from Gonzaga University. She has a strong background in marketing and advertising, having worked for top-notch tech companies in Seattle before relocating to Anchorage with her husband. As a seasoned marketing professional, Angela has led successful marketing campaigns and has been recognized for her leadership skills and community involvement.
