R. Bauer Insurance is an independently owned and locally operated insurance agency based in Salem, Oregon. Agency History

In 1957, our father, Ralph Bauer, started in the insurance business so that he could become his own boss, leaving behind a stable job as a bread truck driver with Master Bread Company. He opened up Ralph Bauer Insurance, a Farmers Insurance Group agency, in his own home. In 1972, he expanded the business to include several other carriers and moved the agency to its current location on Liberty St. NE in Salem. Today, the agency is owned and operated by his children, who continue the legacy of providing outstanding customer service and insurance expertise to the people of Oregon.

• Mary Bauer Opra, Agency Principal - As the youngest and the only girl in the family, Mary grew up in the insurance business and was taught the importance of community service at an early age. Mary takes advantage of all volunteer opportunities including serving on several education committees, the local, state and national Distinguished Young Women Scholarship Programs, the Oregon Community Foundation, and the Salem Area Chamber of Commerce. With over 30 years of experience in the insurance industry, Mary has the knowledge and expertise to help you find the right insurance coverage for your needs.
• John Bauer, Agent - John has been in the insurance business for over 30 years and has extensive experience in both personal and commercial insurance. He has a strong background in construction and contracting, which allows him to understand the unique risks and needs of contractors and other businesses. John is an active member of the Salem community and gives back through various volunteer activities.
• Jane Doe, Agent - Jane has been with R. Bauer Insurance for over 15 years and specializes in personal insurance, including auto, home, and life insurance. She is dedicated to providing excellent customer service and ensuring that her clients have the coverage they need to protect their families and assets. Jane is a graduate of the University of Oregon and is actively involved in her church and several local charities.
