Our History

Founded in the heart of Kansas in 1888, Marysville Mutual Insurance Company has a rich history rooted in community and financial strength. It all began with a group of forward-thinking individuals who sought to provide their fellow community members with reliable and affordable fire insurance. The newly formed Marshall County Farmers Mutual Fire and Lightning Insurance Association sprung to life, dedicated to mutual support and protecting homes and businesses from the devastation of fire. Recognizing the growing need for comprehensive protection, a separate charter was granted for The Farmers Mutual Fire & Tornado Insurance Company in 1898 to safeguard against the unpredictable nature of weather.

As the years progressed, these two pillars of community insurance merged in 1932, becoming The Farmers Mutual Insurance Company. This unification expanded coverage to encompass hail damage, alongside other perils such as fire, lightning, and tornadoes. The company continued to evolve, recognizing the changing needs of its policyholders, and in 1956, it officially adopted the name Marysville Mutual Insurance Company.

Throughout its journey, Marysville Mutual has remained steadfast in its commitment to upholding the highest standards of financial stability and customer service. This dedication has earned the company a reputation for reliability and has led to its widespread presence across Kansas, with 245 agencies strategically placed to serve its growing customer base.
